The Dahlias

A LIMITED EDITION SERIES OF FINE ART PRINTS

This series was born from my love of a particular Dahlia print I wanted to buy. But then I thought I would try and grow them myself and photograph them. I bought the bulbs, planted them and waited for them to bloom...and waited...and waited. They all grew but none of them bloomed! I had to accept that growing my own Dahlias wasn't meant to be. Then a couple of weeks later I discovered a local was growing them for pleasure - and with 150 varieties on my back doorstep I decided to do what I do best and photograph them, and leave him to do what he was doing best - growing them! 

All the Dahlias have been re-named from their origin. Why? When I photograph still life - including flowers - I look for the objects personality and felt these names really suited their extravagance! These are their stage names! (You will also find their original names at the bottom of each description).

This is an exquisite limited edition series of fine art prints printed on premium Hahneuműle photorag paper. Each print comes with an additional white border to allow for framing and all prints are personally signed and numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
